CHARISMA.COM VS TEMPURA KIDZ
really though idk, I just sort of bought a guitar after working a summer job in highschool and taught myself and here we are. Is that what you mean?
In my first year of highschool I was really unsure what after-school club to join because I had no skills and was kind of spacey but then this music club looked really really fun even though I didn’t play any instruments but I joined anyway because they only had 3 members and needed a 4th and then they made me buy a guitar and learn how to play it but we mostly just ate cake all the time.
i made a shirt design that’s been in my head for a long time!
you can get it here ~

feel so moon
SO! This is about where I’ll be going with a LOTUS print (for shirts and bags and stuff). I want the print to be LARGE and covering the surface of the item very nicely none of that tiny middle of the shirt/bag stuff!!).
I’m hoping to print onto white, off white, light pink or light blue material.
Because they’re screen printed, it’ll cost per color— so When I finish this, it’ll be very graphic (not painted) and limited color palette (around 3-4 colors)— but I think it’ll be really awesome looking!
What I’d like to know from my followers is interest (again).
Assuming this is somewhat close to the design I’ll go with, SHIRT OR BAG? If shirt, what is your size (i need averages!)?
To do this, I will either print based on amount of interest this post gets, or run on a preorder-like basis until I get enough to pay for the first limited print-run so information from you guys is very important!
Please let me know your thoughts either in ask, note, email, or comment form!! I want to deliver the most satisfactory, cute and lovely products as possible!
I don’t have a preference and I absolutely couldn’t possibly be offended in any way by being mis-gendered via incorrect pronoun usage so use whatever you feel like or seems most appropriate to you based on how you view or see me.
BiS’ image has always been that of the “anti-idols” and they’ve gained all this infamy for doing all these ridiculous things. Which, don’t get me wrong at all, I think is completely completely awesome and inspiring. They’ve challenged the concept of Idols in so many ways and carved out a place of their own that I don’t think anyone else has ever filled or could ever fill in quite the same way. I strongly feel that there was never anything like BiS and there never will be.
(I know people point to Jun Togawa a lot, and that is completely valid and she is amazing, but I think of them in completely different ways and I also think the state of Idol culture right now is much more ripe for ridicule and chaos than it was in the 1980s)
It’s always been “IDOL IS DEAD” and other poignant or cute phrases like “BiS song is cat vomit song” (my favorite) that serve to be antagonistic and a counter to mainstream idol images. They go through interviews and talk about how they’re going to kill all other idol groups, all of these things to further their anti-idol image and mission.
But honestly, to me, I’ve always seen it as half embrace/half rejection towards what Idols are and can be. In the same way that the best satires and especially parodies are the ones that show pure love and understanding for the source material on a deeper level, BiS to me has always been about embracing everything good about Idols while simultaneously ridiculing it, burning it down and decrying it. They are 100% Idols when it comes down to it and if they were some indie rock band writing songs about how shitty Idol culture is and how it’s morally wrong that would be way less interesting and simply dull. It’s only with love that you can tear something down to make it better and strip it down to something that’s pure to you.
On a very personal level, every member of BiS is a strong as fuck, unique and inspiringly cool woman who looks, acts and vibes with me differently than any other idol groups members (save for Dempagumi.inc but that is in a super different way), and each of them represent something different to me. To me, this is a very very very important aspect of what an Idol, in the purest and best of terms should and can represent. In their reaction and riot to Idol culture they’ve always established themselves as unique individuals and a unique group, which is the most punk rock thing to me. And because of that charisma and legendary persona that’s been built up, that again feeds right back into them being Idol as fuck to me. That’s not even talking about their live shows or their fans or a bunch of other awesome aspects to BiS.
So regarding “IDOL IS NOT DEAD”… I think it is quite the opposite of failure. They set out as a Brand New Idol Society, and I think they accomplished so much that is positive. Maybe they left behind a weird legacy that is hard to seperate truth from mystery and earnesty from an “image” that they had to uphold and maybe 15 years from now they’ll be considered a novelty and reduced to a footnote on some dudes Idol blog. But for me it all boils down to me pouring over BiS live videos and seeing them all having fun and smiling while they’re throwing pig guts on the audience and tazing people. I think that is very hard to fake and I know it affected me and others deeply. So I would never look at BiS’ career as a failure, and I really don’t think any of them would either. If anything, IDOL IS NOT DEAD is supposed to be hopeful for the same reason that BiS has always been just as much pro-idol as they have been the anti-idols.@shonendump
A gem of long-lost Zoom Lens propaganda.
